Hello everyone and welcome to Tempt My Tummy Tuesday. My sister, Lana, and I co-host this blog carnival. We share recipes, kitchen and cooking tips, restaurant reviews, and anything food related that you want to share. You know the rule of a blog carnival, please mention the blog or TMTT in your post and link back to Blessed with Grace blog. Don't forget to use Mr. Linky, down below.Over fifteen years ago, I was given a great wedding gift. A dear friend shared her favorite recipes, writing them on recipe cards and putting them in a book. What a great personal gift that was. Good idea, huh? It is fairly inexpensive, just the cost of recipe cards and a notebook to store them.
So, here is her Ultimate Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe.
The Ultimate Chocolate Chip CookieIngredients:
- 3/4 cup shortening (butter flavored)
- 1 1/ 4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
- 2 TBSP milk
- 1 TBSP vanilla
- 1 egg
- 1 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 3/4 tsp baking soda
- 1 cup semi sweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup pecan pieces (optional)
- Heat oven 375.
- Mix first 4 ingredients until creamy.
- Beat in egg.
- Mix next 3 ingredients. Add to first mixture and mix until well blended.
- Stir in chocolate chips and pecans. Mix well.
- Bake 8 to 10 minutes for chewy, 11-13 minutes for crispy. Yields 2 1/2 dozen cookies.

Who doesn't love chocolate chip cookies. I know they are one of my husband's favorites! I'll have to try this recipe. Honestly, I always use the recipe off the Nestle chocolate chip package and love it. However, I'm always willing to try (and taste) a new one. :)

There are so many variations of the CCC, but we have one that is our favorite too. They're all so similar, yet all a bit different. Hmmm, sort of like people!
